About melissa
Melissa Minks was born and raised in the Edmonton area and is a member of the Swan River First Nation, with strong roots in her traditional home of Kinuso, Alberta.
With over 20 years of hands-on business experience, Melissa brings both an entrepreneurial mindset and practical financial leadership to her work. She incorporated her first company at just 19 years old, gaining early real-world experience in bookkeeping, cash flow management, payroll, invoicing, and compliance.
Melissa holds a Business Management Diploma (Marketing) from Red Deer College and earned her Bookkeeping Certificate from NAIT in 2024, ensuring her work aligns with current accounting standards, CRA requirements, and modern bookkeeping practices.
Throughout her career, Melissa has managed complex operations including recycling facilities, logistics operations, and government and corporate contracts. In senior leadership roles, she oversaw budgeting, financial reporting, operations, and contract management
to keep businesses profitable, compliant, and well-organized.
Today, Melissa brings that practical, business-owner perspective into her bookkeeping work, helping entrepreneurs, owner-operators, and growing businesses stay organized, confident, and in control of their finances. She understands bookkeeping not just as data entry, but as the financial foundation that allows businesses to grow, stay compliant, and sleep better at night.
